Welt KlasseThe following is excerpted from The Chronicle of the Horse. The original article was published in page 8 of Friday, September 13, 1996 issue.
Welt Klasse Is Just What Jen Was Looking For
Patricia Rice, who assisted Jen with the purchase, started the search for a stallion of the right bloodlines and quality two years ago. Jen wanted a black Weltmeyer son, and that's what she brought home. "I bought him right after he passed the performance testing [in Germany]," said Jen. Welt Klasse caught the attention of all three judges. Bill Solyntjes awarded Welt Klasse a winning score of 71.23 percent in the 4-year-olds and older stallion class; Ekehard Brysh gave him 76.90 percent the highest score in the 4-year-olds under saddle class; and he won his training level, test 3 class with a 78.84% from Jan Horton. These scores gave Welt Klasse a 75.65 percent average for the Ultimate Sporthorse Challenge award. The Challenge consists of three parts: an in-hand class judged on the triangle, a "materials" class (a sport horse under saddle or a dressage suitability class), and a dressage test. Jen has Welt Klasse in dressage training with Seana Adamson of Verdi, Nev. Welt klasse will stand at stud in Reno, and his first foals will arrive in 1997.

Violet's notes: I didn't print the horses' names in the second and third places in the above table, but the scores are the actual scores listed in the Chronicle of the Horse. You can clearly see Welt Klasse's ridability is obviously above the others. Similar article was also published in the Ride! magazine.
